Job summary

Actalent in Plymouth, MN is seeking an experienced R&D Engineer Project Manager III to lead catheter or implantable device projects from concept through commercialization. You will define scope, develop plans, manage budgets, and coordinate cross-functional teams to meet time, cost, and quality targets.

The role requires 7+ years in medical device leadership, PMP is a plus, proficiency with MS Project/Smartsheet, and experience with Agile/Waterfall.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of leadership experience in medical devices or high-technology industries.
• 4+ years of project management experience handling multiple projects.
• Strong organizational, leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with budgeting and financial tracking.
• Proficient with MS Project, Smartsheet, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Drive product development execution with cross-functional teams to achieve contract deliverables.
• Define scope, objectives, and deliverables from concept through commercialization with stakeholders.
• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets with input from cross-functional teams.
• Monitor progress, track milestones, and adjust plans as needed.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies with timely escalation.
• Manage project resources including personnel and budget.
• Balance development speed with feature scope while meeting quality expectations.
• Communicate project status, updates, and risks to stakeholders and leadership.
• Ensure alignment with organizational goals and quality standards.
• Facilitate meetings and maintain project governance.
• Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned.
