An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced R&D Project Manager to lead the development and execution of catheter or implantable device projects. This role is responsible for managing the full project lifecycle, from concept to commercialization, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with organizational goals and quality standards.
The R&D Project Manager will drive product development with cross-functional teams, define project scope and objectives, and develop detailed plans, schedules, and budgets. Key responsibilities include monitoring progress, tracking milestones, and adjusting plans as needed. The role requires effective resource management, risk assessment and mitigation, and timely escalation and resolution of issues. Regular communication with stakeholders and leadership is essential, including providing project updates and facilitating meetings. The manager will also maintain documentation and ensure project governance, while continuously seeking process improvements.
Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with at least seven years of leadership experience in the medical device, biomedical, or high technology industries and a minimum of four years in project management. Strong organizational, leadership, and problem solving skills are essential, along with proficiency in MS Project and other project management tools. Experience with budgeting, financial tracking, and familiarity with methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall is required.
Preferred qualifications include a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or advanced degrees, and demonstrated experience in the medical device industry. The role is onsite in Plymouth, MN, with occasional travel within the Twin Cities area. Success will be measured by timely project delivery, stakeholder satisfaction, quality outcomes, and effective risk mitigation.
