Job summary

Lyons Magnus, LLC in Fresno, CA seeks an experienced Research & Development leader to drive new product development and ingredient technology, collaborating with manufacturing, Quality, and sourcing to meet business objectives.

You will design trials, analyze data, and present findings to cross-functional teams, ensuring scale-up readiness, cost targets, and consumer-validated products for national and international markets.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Food Science or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years in industrial or applied R&D in food science.
Prior experience with customer interaction.

Responsibilities

Direct the coordinated development of new products and improvements of current products to deliver on objectives of the annual business plans.
Lead and manage multiple development projects using detailed investigations, well-thought-out experimental design, sound scientific techniques and data-based decision making.
Investigate for product and process challenges; provide creative solutions to solve challenges in development and commercialization.
Establish professional relationships with fellow scientists and team members of our customers and suppliers.
Work with other departments to determine equipment, materials and processes necessary to produce products to maximize capacity and optimize product quality.
Assure technically sound sensory panels are conducted for product development, shelf-life studies, improving/maintaining present products and competitive testing.
