Job summary

Dessert Holdings seeks a Senior R&D Development Chef to be based in Aurora, CO, using culinary knowledge to develop new products from concept to prototype. Responsibilities include documentation, formulations, pilot testing and commercialization touch points, vendor visits, and raw material testing.

The role offers a comprehensive benefits package and the possibility to travel up to 20% across North America. A strong background in baking/pastry and product commercialization is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on baking/pastry arts experience with strong palate and sensory skills
• Experience in product commercialization is required
• Ability to work self-directed with strong time management and communication skills
• Proficient computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Responsibilities

• Research, formulate, and develop new bakery concepts within time and cost constraints
• Create proof of concept samples and present specifications for customer approval
• Stay current on dessert trends and bring ideas to new product development
• Coordinate with vendors, Quality, Sanitation, and Engineering on SOPs for tested products
• Prepare trial plans, data summaries, and guidelines for tests
• Collaborate with Supply Chain to source new ingredients
• Improve product quality through formulation and ingredient parameter review
• Maintain clean and organized kitchen spaces and equipment
