Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM seeks a Research and Development Laboratory Support Technologist to support vibration and acoustics testing activities and contribute to structural dynamics research.

You will work with engineers on diverse projects, operate high-end test equipment, and ensure safe, compliant lab operations while pursuing continuous improvements within a national security context.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; two+ years of exempt experience preferred.
• Experience with electrical instrumentation or hardware.
• Experience maintaining laboratory facilities and documentation.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DOE Q/Sigma clearance.

Responsibilities

• Work with engineers to realize ideas and designs and help accomplish goals.
• Apply vibration test techniques to projects including weapon systems, aerospace structures, and civil structures.
• Handle hazardous materials as required.
• Set up and conduct high-channel-count, high-quality experiments.
• Execute low to high hazard experiments and testing.
• Ensure adherence to work planning and control processes for safe, high-quality operations.
• Lead improvements to testing processes for quality and efficiency.
