Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions in Hampton Beach, NH is seeking an R&D Development Engineer to lead a team in creating and defining next generation superconducting interconnects. You will work on mechanical design, coordinate with Signal Integrity, and align the product roadmap with market needs.

The role requires a MS/BS in engineering or physics, 4+ years in project management, and strong CAD/CAE skills.

MSME, BSME, Physics, or related field.
Minimum 4+ years industry experience in concurrent project management.

Responsibilities

Lead a development arm of superconducting transmission lines and interfaces.
Work directly with the Signal Integrity (EE) team to ensure mechanical design supports electrical performance.
Ideal candidate will have experience with braiding equipment and flexible coaxial cable manufacturing.
Responsible for material selection (metal, plastic, surface coatings, etc).
Developing initial product specifications and technical documentation.
Cultivate new suppliers to address unusual manufacturing challenges.
Interface with customers during multiple phases of a project and assist in the sales process.
Collaborate with internal and external suppliers for DFM, prototyping, and production tooling design and qualifications; travel to sites around the world.
