Job summary

Medtronic plc in the United States seeks a Senior R&D Engineer for Structural Heart to advance transcatheter valve technologies. You will analyze cardiovascular imaging datasets, build anatomical models, and develop predictive tools to support device development and preclinical studies.

The role requires strong imaging analytics, programming in Python/MATLAB, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. On-site work at the Mounds View, MN facility is expected with travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 4+ years of experience or advanced degree with 2+ years.
• Experience with cardiovascular imaging analysis and segmentation.
• Experience interpreting CT/MR images and cardiac anatomy.

Responsibilities

• Analyze clinical and preclinical imaging datasets (CT, MRI, ultrasound, fluoroscopy).
• Develop anatomical reconstructions, segmentation workflows, and quantitative methods using advanced 3D imaging software.
• Create and maintain data-processing and analysis tools using Python and/or MATLAB.
• Support product development and preclinical activities through image analysis and anatomy assessments.
• Develop and evaluate predictive models for patient screening, device evaluation, and anatomy‑device interaction.
• Generate technical reports, research docs, and presentations for teams and leadership.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, physicians, and external researchers on studies.
