Job summary

Actalent in Maple Grove, MN seeks an R&D Engineer to lead development of transcatheter delivery systems and other complex interventional devices from concept to commercialization. The role blends hands-on design, manufacturing support, and cross-functional collaboration within a small, innovation-focused team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical degree.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in a relevant field.
• 3+ years medical device development in ISO/QSR environments is valued.
• Experience with catheter-based or transcatheter medical devices.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of transcatheter delivery systems from concept through verification, validation, design transfer, and commercialization.
• Translate clinical needs and physician feedback into engineering solutions and detailed design specs.
• Assist with catheter assemblies, mechanical components, deployment mechanisms, prototypes, and fixtures.
• Develop bench tests, analyze data, and drive iterative design improvements.
• Support DFMA, design control docs, risk management, and regulatory readiness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project planning, schedules, and milestones.
• Provide post-commercialization product support and continuous improvement.
