Job summary

Medtronic Neuroscience seeks a skilled R&D Electronics Technician IV to support the development, testing, and transfer of medical devices and associated test equipment. You will lead advanced prototype activities, review schematics, and help advance electromechanical designs in collaboration with engineers and suppliers.

Responsibilities include building and testing complex prototypes, developing LabVIEW-based test systems, and ensuring accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant technical experience in electronic or electromechanical product development.
• Demonstrated experience building, troubleshooting, testing, and repairing electronic assemblies and electromechanical systems.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and independently execute complex technical assignments.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced technical support for the development and improvement of medical devices, electronic assemblies, electromechanical systems, and test equipment.
• Build, modify, troubleshoot, and test complex electronic and electromechanical prototypes.
• Independently plan and execute assigned technical activities while coordinating priorities with R&D engineers and project teams.
• Review electrical schematics, PCB layouts, BOMs, engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
• Develop, modify, troubleshoot, and maintain LabVIEW-based test systems, including interfaces and data-acquisition configurations.
• Develop engineering test methods and protocols, conduct testing, collect data, and report results clearly.
• Perform verification testing and maintain traceable test records.
• Diagnose complex issues using structured troubleshooting methods and perform board-level rework as needed.
• Design and build electronic cables, fixtures, adapters, harnesses, and prototypes.
• Operate advanced test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc.) and calibrate lab equipment.
• Support design transfer, manufacturing readiness, sustaining engineering, and product investigations.
