Job summary

Qualifications

5+ years of formulating experience in the paint and coatings industry.
Deep knowledge of acrylics, alkyds, 2K polyurethane / polyester, and epoxy-amine chemistries.
Direct experience with industrial, automotive aftermarket, agricultural, or marine coatings.

Responsibilities

Design advanced 1K (acrylics, alkyds) and 2K (urethane, epoxy) coatings to meet customer and internal specs.
Adapt liquid coatings for aerosol delivery, managing propellant compatibility, pressure, and spray patterns.
Oversee testing including adhesion, weathering (QUV), corrosion/chemical resistance, and color matching.
Transition lab formulations to full-scale plant manufacturing.
Guide and train junior laboratory chemists in formulation techniques and lab safety.
