Job summary

Cemex US seeks a Quarry Supervisor to oversee production processes and maintain mobile equipment in quarry and plant settings. The role ensures adherence to the mining plan and applicable federal, state, and county mining regulations.

Responsibilities include safety policy development, inspections, resource allocation for safety training, and leading safety activities. Strong leadership and regulatory knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and five to seven years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Capable of supervising a wide variety of operations to achieve a quality product within time and cost constraints.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement plant safety policies, goals and standards.
• Complete periodic inspections and audits to verify compliance and hold personnel accountable.
• Allocate resources to support safety tasks and safety awareness training.
• Lead safety activities in the department and address unsafe work reports.
• Plan, direct, and control operations involving stripping, drilling, blasting, loading and delivering to stockpile of raw materials.
• Requisition parts and explosives and supervise receiving, storage and control.
• Supervise regular servicing and schedule preventive maintenance of quarry and plant mobile equipment.
• Interview, hire, train employees and manage performance, discipline and scheduling.
• Instruct employees on proper safety practices and ensure budgets and quality specs are met.
