Job summary

You will develop end-to-end quantum applications on trapped-ion computers and translate quantum advances into real-world impact. The role involves collaborating with customers, benchmarking results, and publishing findings; a PhD is preferred and experience with Python, C++, and Qiskit is valued.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional experience in quantum applications.
• Proficiency with Python and/or C++ and Qiskit or similar SDKs.
• Experience developing or optimizing quantum algorithms in areas like computational chemistry, optimization, and machine learning.
• Strong communication and ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and optimize novel quantum algorithms, applications, and end-to-end workflows.
• Collaborate with customers and partners to define and solve real-world problems using IonQ trapped-ion quantum computers.
• Benchmark performance and publish results in high-impact venues.
• Support initiatives delivering new scientific discoveries and innovations.
