D-Wave Quantum Inc. is seeking a Senior Quantum Applications Engineer to join the quantum applications and algorithms team.

You will develop high-impact quantum applications for chemistry, ML, and cryptography, working across software, firmware, and hardware interfaces. The role requires deep expertise in quantum computing, strong Python skills, and experience with SDKs like Qiskit, PennyLane, or CUDA Quantum.

Qualificações

• MS or PhD in a related field with a specialization in quantum computing; equivalent industry experience considered.
• 5+ years of experience developing, simulating, and deploying quantum algorithms including NISQ algorithms.
• 3+ years of Python or other general-purpose language, with production-quality code.
• Expertise with one or more quantum computing SDKs like Qiskit, PennyLane, or CUDA Quantum.
• Demonstrated depth in at least one application vertical (e.g., quantum chemistry, ML, finance, optimization, cryptography).
• Strong software engineering skills with code reviews, version control, and CI/CD.

Responsabilidades

• Collaborate with multiple research and engineering teams to design, implement, and rigorously test novel high-impact quantum applications in domains such as chemistry, materials science, machine learning, AI, finance, and cryptography
• Explore applications from post-NISQ through to fault-tolerant commercial utility
• Identify algorithms that enhance the value of our quantum hardware by considering its specific features and constraints
• Implement and support simulation features
• Work closely with quantum engineers to execute quantum applications on hardware
