Job summary

Mathematica is seeking a Quantitative Researcher/Senior Researcher for State and Local Government Services in Princeton, NJ. You will conduct data-driven evaluations, lead teams, and translate complex methods for policymakers and partners.

The role emphasizes rigorous analysis, collaboration with project teams, and development of proposals, with an emphasis on public health and health policy applications.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in economics, public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, data science or related field.
• Senior Researcher requires at least five years of full-time experience with leadership.
• Strong quantitative analytics; training in causal inference preferred.
• Broad understanding of state health policy and programs.
• Experience with health data sources and healthcare data.
• Experience with programming languages such as R, Python, STATA and AI platforms.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior staff to apply rigorous quantitative methods and causal inference.
• Draft materials to present findings to policy audiences.
• Help develop proposals for new research projects.
• Contribute to growth and knowledge of research staff.
