Job summary

Actalent seeks a Quality Systems & Process Improvement Engineer to elevate quality systems, streamline processes, and lead continuous improvement across the organization. You will evaluate business processes, drive corrective actions, and support audits to ensure regulatory compliance.

Based in Moorpark, CA, this permanent role focuses on AS9100 readiness, CAPA management, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver measurable performance gains. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Science, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality systems, process improvement, or business process engineering within manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and structured problem-solving.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and data-driven process improvements.
• Familiarity with PMO and Future Mode of Operation (FMO) methodologies.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Teams).
• Excellent written and verbal communication, ability to collaborate with leadership.
• Working knowledge of AS9100 Rev D quality standards.
• Experience auditing or supporting internal quality audits.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate existing business processes to identify opportunities for efficiency and performance.
• Conduct analyses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Support QMS compliance activities and assist with audits (internal, customer, third-party).
• Participate in AS9100 audit activities and audit readiness efforts.
• Review audit findings and drive corrective and preventive actions.
• Manage NCRs and CAPA activities to ensure timely closure and effectiveness.
• Collaborate with process owners to investigate issues and implement actions.
• Perform gap analyses and recommend Lean/Six Sigma improvements.
• Develop metrics and reporting tools to monitor process performance.
• Create/process documentation, procedures, and training materials.
• Support organizational change management with clear communication.
• Provide coaching and training to team members as needed.
