Job summary

Shield AI, a defense-tech company, seeks a Quality Systems Manager to own and continuously improve Shield AI's enterprise QMS to meet AS9100 and AQAP/NATO requirements. You will partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Program Management, and Field Operations to scale quality across development, production, and fielded products.

You will lead AQAP 2110 implementation, maintain document control, drive internal audit programs, and prepare for audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with strong quality background.
• 8+ years in Quality/QMS/Compliance/product assurance.
• 3+ years in leadership within quality-related functions.
• Experience developing or maintaining AS9100 QMS.

Responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve the enterprise QMS ensuring AS9100 compliance.
• Lead AQAP 2110 assessment, gap closure, and certification readiness.
• Develop and maintain a single integrated QMS for multiple programs.
• Own internal audit program including planning, findings, and corrective actions.
• Lead preparation for AS9100, AQAP, and government audits.
• Drive corrective action and continuous improvement to prevent recurrence.
• Establish document control and retention processes for quality records.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Configuration Management for traceability.
• Implement contractual and customer-specific quality requirements and flow-down to suppliers.
• Support Government Quality Assurance activities and interface with customers.
• Define enterprise quality metrics and report QMS health and risks.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives to digitize and simplify quality processes.
• Build and lead the Quality Systems & Compliance team.
