Job summary

Randstad USA in the Youngstown/Hubbard area seeks a Sr. Quality Metallurgist with deep expertise in aluminum casting. You will lead metallurgical practices, guide process optimization, and ensure compliance with aerospace/industrial specs. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

The role requires 7+ years of experience, a Bachelor's degree, and leadership in NDT/RCFA activities within foundry environments. 8am-4pm, permanent employment with a 10% bonus potential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience in aluminum casting.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (engineering/metallurgy).
• Experience leading NDT and testing programs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and optimize aluminum melting, refining, alloying, and casting processes.
• Serve as SME for aluminum metallurgy and heat-treatment protocols.
• Direct NDT and destructive testing programs to ensure product integrity.
• Lead root-cause failure analysis for casting defects and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with design teams to evaluate new alloys and casting technologies.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians in foundry metallurgy.
• Verify raw material suppliers and assist in supplier qualification.
