Job summary

Link Technical Talent is seeking a Senior Metallurgist for our aluminum manufacturing client in Youngstown, OH. You will lead metallurgical initiatives, oversee melting, refining and casting, and drive quality improvements on-site with 10–20% travel to serve aerospace, automotive and industrial customers.

Qualifications

Metallurgist with aluminum casting or foundry background.
Strong knowledge of aluminum alloys.
Experience with quality, failure analysis, root cause analysis, and process improvement.
NDT experience or qualifications advantageous.
Aiming to be the technical authority within a growing facility.

Responsibilities

Become the site's technical expert for aluminum metallurgy, casting processes and heat treatment.
Optimize aluminum melting, refining and casting processes.
Lead root cause investigations into casting defects (porosity, inclusions, hot tears).
Oversee NDT/destructive testing, quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with aerospace, automotive and industrial customers; travel 10–20%.
