Senior Quality Mentor: Child Care Training & TRS Support

Job summary

Child Care Associates is seeking a Program Manager to support the Texas Rising Star (TRS) initiative by mentoring teams, coordinating training, and promoting quality child care.

The role includes providing on-site mentoring, developing instructional materials, and moving facilities toward 4 Star or National Accreditation. Strong training experience and bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred. Remote work flexibility is available as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred; at least three (3) years of project management.
• Minimum of two years of full-time work experience directly working in or supervising direct delivery of early learning and/or child care services;
• At least 3 years experience in an early childhood setting.
• Experience in preparing and conducting training and development workshops for adults with effective results.
• Knowledge of computer software, especially Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction and serve as the lead support to the mentoring team.
• Provide shadowing for new hire mentor staff.
• Assist with coordinating, planning, and implementation of activities that promote quality child care.
• Assist program support manager with regard to quality activities.
• Provide on-site mentoring to child care providers attaining and maintaining Texas Rising Star certification.
• Support facilities to move toward 4 Star or National Accreditation status with ongoing development.
• Maintain a visit schedule to ensure TRS sites receive on-site visits regularly.
• Submit weekly reports detailing site visits, successes and obstacles.
• Develop instructional materials and provide instructional trainings on a monthly basis.
• Recruit providers and provide on-site training in attaining TRS status.
• Participate in community events as required.
• Assist in ordering materials and resources through the Quality Initiatives program as needed for the TRS program.
• Other related duties as assigned.
