Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior Quality Manager-Weld/Fabrication to lead quality across welding and fabrication processes in our growing manufacturing setting. This role drives continuous improvement, ensures ISO 9001 alignment, and partners with cross-functional teams to optimize product quality and process performance.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in quality leadership in manufacturing/construction, extensive welding/fabrication knowledge, and strong expertise in SPC, MSA, Six Sigma, PPAP, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years in quality management in manufacturing or construction.
• Proven welding/fabrication quality experience with steel and sheet metal.
• In-depth knowledge of quality systems such as ISO 9001/9000.
• Expertise in SPC, MSA and Six Sigma.
• Experience implementing Lean and 6S.
• Strong PPAP and APQP knowledge.
• Experience in supplier quality management and vendor development.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Welding Inspection or Quality Management certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

1. Lead the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001 standards.
2. Manage and control welding and fabrication processes to ensure product quality and compliance with industry standards.
3. Utilize statistical analysis tools like SPC and MSA to monitor, control, and improve product and process quality.
4. Implement Lean, Six Sigma, and 6S methodologies to drive process improvements and reduce waste.
5. Oversee production part approval process (PPAP) and advanced product quality planning (APQP) activities.
6. Lead supplier quality management initiatives, including vendor development and performance monitoring.
7. Conduct regular audits, inspections, and reviews to ensure compliance with quality standards and continuous improvement of processes.
8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive quality initiatives and resolve quality issues.
9. Provide training and guidance to team members on quality standards, tools, and methodologies.
10. Manage and report on quality performance metrics to senior management.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a quality management role in the manufacturing or construction industry.
3. Proven experience in welding and fabrication processes, particularly with steel and sheet metal.
4. In-depth knowledge of quality management systems and standards, including ISO 9001 and 9000.
5. Expertise in statistical analysis tools and methodologies, including SPC, MSA, and Six Sigma.
6. Experience in implementing Lean and 6S methodologies.
7. Strong knowledge of PPAP and APQP processes.
8. Experience in supplier quality management and vendor development.
9. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
10. Pressure Vessel experience would be ideal.
11. Certification in Welding Inspection or Quality Management would be an added advantage.
