Job summary

Blue Origin in Southern California is recruiting a Quality Engineer to lead quality assurance activities across programs. You will manage supplier performance, drive process improvements, and ensure conformance to aerospace quality standards through audits, CAPA, and collaboration with engineering teams.

The role requires experience with ISO 9001/AS 9100, GD&T, SPC, and ERP/MRP systems, with a focus on delivering high-quality spaceflight components on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in science or engineering discipline as preferred.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001/AS 9100 quality systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience with SPC and process capability concepts.
• Supplier Quality Assurance experience and continuous improvement exposure.
• Familiar with ERP/MRP planning systems and MS Office tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality engineering support for customer programs and supplier quality.
• Develop metrics and maintain QA processes across programs.
• Lead QA activities from proposal to shipment with cost and delivery focus.
• Host and participate in customer and internal quality audits.
• Interface with suppliers and customers on quality requirements.
• Establish QA/QC tools to measure supplier performance.
• Issue SCARs and CAPA; implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with engineering to ensure production readiness.
