Job summary

Forterra seeks a Senior Quality Manager to lead quality initiatives for a major autonomous research client in Clarksburg, MD. You will own CAPAs, drive continuous improvement, and coordinate with design and production teams to meet quality goals.

You will interact with internal/external customers and participate in audits to ensure compliance. The role requires 6+ years in Quality Management with supervisory experience, ISO 9001:2015 knowledge, and proficiency with ERP systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM).
6+ years of Quality Management work experience in Defense, Aerospace, Medical or Automotive manufacturing.
6+ years of direct Quality Management supervisory experience in Defense, Aerospace, Medical or Automotive manufacturing.
Auditing experience within the ISO9001:2015 quality management standard.
Proven track record of understanding and managing First Article Inspection / PPAPs.
Working knowledge of MRB standards, practices, and customer engagement.
Experience facilitating RCCA.
Experience with Dimensional Inspection Techniques and reading drawings/ specs.
Experience with APQP, PFMEA, 8D, A3 Problem Solving.
AS9100, ISO 9001:2015, TS16949 or equivalent quality system experience.
Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint; ERP experience (NetSuite, SAP, Plex).

Responsibilities

Understand and analyze complex problems and derive solutions.
Effectively communicate technical issues to Managers, Customers, and Executive Management.
Drives continuous improvement and defect reduction using data analysis.
Support nonconformance investigations to analyze root cause and define corrective actions.
Lead program and quality assurance reviews.
Monitor monthly quality performance metrics.
Ensure requirements are captured in product/process designs and reviews.
Review quality documentation for compliance.
Maintain and measure quality assurance processes.
Drive countermeasures for KPI/PPI gaps.
Oversee team activities and staff performance.
Assign duties and monitor quality of work; ensure regulatory and policy compliance.
Support third‑party audits and internal audits of products, processes, procedures.
Support APQP processes and supplier evaluations.
Manage Quality department budget.
Develop talent and address performance issues.
Perform other duties as assigned; up to 20% travel.
