Job summary

Forterra in Clarksburg, MD is seeking a Senior Quality Manager to lead CAPA activities, own nonconformance processes, and drive continuous improvement across design and production. You will collaborate with internal and external customers to meet quality expectations, develop procedures, and monitor KPIs to reduce defects.

The role requires travel up to 20% and a strong background in ISO 9001-based quality systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM).
• 6+ years of Quality Management work experience in Defense, Aerospace, Medical or Automotive manufacturing.
• 6+ years of direct Quality Management supervisory experience in Defense, Aerospace, Medical or Automotive manufacturing.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Auditing experience within the ISO9001:2015 quality management standard.
• Proven track record of understanding and managing First Article Inspection / PPAPs.
• Working knowledge of MRB standards, practices, and customer engagement.
• Experience facilitating effective RCCA.
• Experience with Dimensional Inspection Techniques and ability to read drawings and specs.
• Experience with APQP/PPAP and 8D problem solving.
• Strong interpersonal skills and leadership capabilities.
• AS9100, ISO 9001:2015, TS16949 or equivalent quality system experience.

Responsibilities

• Understand and analyze complex problems and derive solutions.
• Communicate technical issues, solutions, and concepts to Managers, Customers, and Executives.
• Drive continuous improvement and defect reduction using data analysis.
• Support investigations to determine root cause and implement corrective actions.
• Lead program and quality assurance reviews.
• Monitor monthly quality performance metrics.
• Ensure requirements are consumed into product/process specs.
• Review quality documentation for compliance.
• Maintain and measure QA processes.
• Develop counter measures for KPI targets.
• Monitor team activities and address issues.
• Assign duties and ensure staff compliance with regulations.
• Support audits and supplier evaluations.
• Monitor and manage QA department budget.
• Develop talent and drive performance.
