Job summary

Electra, headquartered in Manassas, VA, is seeking a Principal Quality Inspector to oversee quality at our Manassas HQ and future Springfield, OH site. You will own day-to-day inspections and help build the QMS to support FAA certification efforts.

This hands-on role requires leading audits, partnering with Manufacturing, Engineering, Flight Test, and Tooling, and delivering training programs to scale lean quality across sites.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of demonstrated aviation manufacturing or maintenance experience.
• Working knowledge of FAA regulations, documentation and procedures.
• Hands-on experience with in-process, FAI, receiving inspection, and non-conformance management.
• Experience supporting FAA flight test operations, including Conformity Inspections and Safe to Fly determinations.
• Demonstrated ability to build and deliver technical training programs for Quality, Manufacturing, and Production personnel.
• Strong cross-functional communication skills across engineering, manufacturing, and regulatory teams.
• Willingness and ability to travel and support operations at multiple sites (Manassas, VA and Springfield, OH).

Responsibilities

• Represent Electra's Quality department with professionalism at all locations from shop floor to executive meetings.
• Support FAA Part 23 Type and Production Certification efforts with quality oversight and documentation.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Production, Engineering, Tooling, Flight Test, and Facilities for on-site support and reporting.
• Lead development and maintenance of a compliant FAA CFR 21.137 Quality Management System.
• Serve as Quality focal for MRB activities including disposition of non-conforming parts and root cause investigations.
• Support AS9100D/AS9102-quality system development if required by program objectives.
• Drive Lean quality practices across Production and Manufacturing including calibration and employee competency programs.
• Support Flight Test operations including Pre/Post Flight quality inspections and Safe to Fly determinations.
• Develop, deliver, and maintain a Quality Training Program for the organization.
• Own predictive quality and rate acceleration objectives to hit production milestones.
• Provide additional quality support as program needs evolve.
