Job summary

Maker's Pride in Grand Rapids, MI, seeks an experienced QA and Food Safety leader to direct all quality systems at the plant. You will coach teams onsite, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, GMP, and SQF requirements.

The role requires hands-on RCA/CAPA, audit programs, and collaboration with production and regulatory teams to protect product safety and brand integrity. You will lead sanitation, environmental monitoring, KPI tracking, and training initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business/science-related field required; post-graduate degree a plus.
• Eight–ten years of related work experience leading QA/food safety teams in food manufacturing.
• PCQI and/or HACCP Certification required.
• Strong self-confidence, leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA and Food Safety programs including HACCP, Food Safety Plans, and GMP compliance.
• Execute robust internal audits and ensure audit readiness site-wide.
• Collaborate with plant leadership to drive quality culture and reduce consumer complaints.
• Lead RCA and CAPA investigations to prevent recurrence.
• Oversee Hold and Release, Trace, and Mock Recall processes.
• Manage environmental monitoring and sanitation programs across the site.
• Ensure regulatory label compliance and alignment with FDA/USDA/OSHA requirements.
• Support process specifications, capabilities, and customer requirements.
