Job summary

Newnovation is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to support the FSQA Director in ensuring product quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance across the facility. The role oversees quality control and QA activities and drives continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate has a Food Science degree or relevant experience in sous-vide production, with strong experience in QA/QC, audits, and knowledge of GFSI/BRC.

Qualifications

• Must have a degree in food science or equivalent or 3+ years QA/QC leadership experience in sous-vide manufacturing.
• Minimum 2+ years managing QA/QC staff.
• Experience in food manufacturing, food safety, and quality assurance.
• Strong knowledge of GFSI standards and BRC requirements.
• Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain SOPs for food quality and safety.
• Identify opportunities to improve quality and safety programs.
• Perform daily Quality Control activities per procedures.
• Monitor production to ensure compliance while cooking sous-vide products.
• Support audits by USDA, FDA, Health Department, Virginia DoA, etc.
• Conduct release inspections for materials, in-process, finished products.
• Support calibration and preventive maintenance.
• Lead nonconformance investigations and corrective actions.
• Investigate customer complaints and internal non-conformities; root-cause analysis.
• Review quality records and ensure corrective actions.
• Organize QA team resources and ensure coverage.
• Ensure facility operates per regulations and BRC standards.
• Educate departments on standards and audit requirements.
• Provide technical support to customers and Sales.
• Prepare for and conduct customer and federal audits.
• Maintain written quality programs, HACCP.
• Oversee prerequisite programs: Maintenance, Pest control, Sanitation, Testing.
