Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Quality Engineering Manager to lead testing and quality engineering delivery for large-scale transformation programs. You will partner with business and technology leaders to ensure outcomes align with objectives, timelines, and financial targets.

You will define enterprise testing strategies, oversee API testing, test automation, and CI/CD integration while establishing governance and reporting for program health and quality. Hybrid role in Ohio.

About the role

As a Senior Quality Engineering Manager, you will make an impact by leading the testing and quality engineering delivery for large-scale transformation programs. You will be a valued member of the delivery leadership team and work collaboratively with business leaders, technology teams, engineering teams, vendors, and client stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes aligned with business objectives, timelines, and financial targets.

In this role, you will:

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of enterprise testing and transformation programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives, schedules, quality standards, scope, and financial targets.


• Define and govern enterprise testing strategies, test plans, quality engineering frameworks, and delivery standards across complex programs.


• Oversee system integration testing, test automation, API testing, risks, dependencies, delivery metrics, and stakeholder expectations.


• Establish effective governance and reporting mechanisms that provide client leadership with clear visibility into program health, quality, risks, and delivery performance.


• Serve as a primary escalation point for client leadership, drive timely issue resolution, strengthen stakeholder relationships, and promote the adoption of artificial intelligence and generative AI to improve delivery outcomes.

What you need to have to be considered

• 10+ years of proven experience as a Test Lead, Test Manager, Quality Engineering Manager, or Test Program Manager supporting large and complex transformation programs.


• Hands-on experience developing enterprise testing strategies, test plans, quality standards, governance models, and delivery frameworks.


• Strong experience leading system integration testing and collaborating with business, technology, engineering, and vendor stakeholders.


• Experience designing and executing automated test suites for critical business workflows, guiding automation engineers, and developing reusable automation frameworks.


• Hands-on experience with API and integration testing, including analyzing API specifications, service contracts, and integration requirements, and automating API tests using Postman, SoapUI, or comparable tools.


• Experience integrating automated tests into continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines and measuring automation coverage and effectiveness.


• Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, client engagement, and issue-resolution skills.

These will help you stand out

• Experience managing the quality engineering workstream of a large enterprise transformation program.


• Knowledge of artificial intelligence and generative AI applications within testing, quality engineering, or business transformation.


• Experience introducing emerging technologies that improve testing efficiency, delivery quality, or business outcomes.


• Ability to manage program financials, delivery metrics, risks, dependencies, and continuous service improvement initiatives.


• Experience serving as a senior client-facing escalation point across business and technology organizations.
