Job summary

PNC seeks a Quality Engineer Specialist Sr to join the Technology - Digital Retail team. Based in Pittsburgh, Strongsville, Dallas, or Birmingham, you will design and execute tests across UI, APIs, and downstream systems, mentor junior QEs, and drive release readiness with clear status reporting.

You will lead test planning, coordinate environments, review automation coverage, and ensure quality across complex business flows in a fast-paced banking environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Jira/Xray for test management and execution.
• Familiarity with Confluence or SharePoint for test documentation.
• Experience testing customer-facing, enterprise web applications.
• Test automation experience (Karate, Cucumber/Gherkin, Selenium).
• API testing experience (Postman, Rest Assured, SoapUI).
• Working knowledge of Git/Bitbucket and CI/CD (Jenkins).
• Ability to assess and improve automation quality.
• Basic SQL skills to validate test data (read-only).

Responsibilities

• Review upcoming stories and features for testability.
• Design and own test strategy for complex flows across UI, APIs, fraud checks.
• Create and execute test cases in Jira/Xray and ensure evidence meets standards.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, accessibility, and cross-browser testing.
• Lead SIT and Regression planning, including environments and data readiness.
• Log, track, and validate defects with development teams.
• Own release-level documentation and risk alignment.
• Review automation coverage and collaborate to improve reliability.
• Communicate testing status and risks to stakeholders and leadership.
• Mentor QEs on test design quality and tooling best practices.
