Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Sr Associate, Quality Engineer in Clifton, NJ. The role focuses on implementing and maintaining a Quality Management System to ensure products meet corporate and contract standards, with interaction across customers, leadership, and engineering teams.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills, experience with Agile/Lean practices, and the ability to work across software, systems, hardware, and aeronautical programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship

Responsibilities

• Lead or support continuous improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as root cause analysis, Zero Defect Plan (ZDP), 8D, 5S, Kaizen, lean methods, Six Sigma, etc.
• Provide quality support to development teams on software, systems, hardware and aeronautical engineering programs to facilitate proper implementation of product and process policies, methods, and operating practices.
• Leverage investigative & problem-solving tools, techniques and methods to identify corrective and preventive action opportunities and drive continual improvement.
• Perform quality audits and assessments to assure compliance with customer, company, and regulatory requirements in support of CMMI, AS9100 and the Quality Management System.
• Monitor and report audit findings and determine proper corrective and preventive actions with the process owner and leadership.
• Attend Agile team meetings and observe Agile practices to ensure compliance with defined company processes and industry practices for SAFE, DEVOPS and LeanAgile.
• Witness product verification and validation procedures including systems, software and aeronautical engineering per documented test procedures and criteria.
• Frequent contact with internal and external customers at various levels and participation in meetings and activities.
• Occasional night and/or weekend work may be required. Occasional weekend on-call duty is required.
