Job summary

Ferriot Inc. is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to lead the quality system and drive improvements across materials, processes and products. You will mentor staff and coordinate advanced quality initiatives with manufacturing, engineering and suppliers.

You will develop and maintain QA documentation, perform complex root-cause analyses, and lead control-strategy improvements while ensuring compliance with ISO 9000/IATF standards and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field from an accredited college or university.
• Strong knowledge of quality assurance methods, ISO 9000, SPC, TQM, DOE, APQP-style planning, PFMEA, control plans, measurement systems analysis and continuous-improvement methods and metrology systems.
• Six or more years of progressive quality-engineering experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment; experience leading complex quality projects and cross-functional improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality-engineering activities for new, revised and existing products, including APQP-style planning and production-readiness reviews.
• Develop, approve and maintain quality documentation, including inspection plans, control plans and work instructions.
• Own corrective and preventive actions; facilitate root-cause analysis using 8D, five whys and fishbone diagrams.
• Analyze process capability and defect trends using SPC and data-driven decision-making.
• Lead PFMEA, risk assessments, design and process reviews, and control-strategy improvements.
• Plan and execute product, process and equipment qualifications.
• Investigate customer complaints and internal nonconformances; coordinate containment and corrective actions.
• Provide technical direction on nonconforming material and deviations; maintain documentation.
• Develop and maintain supplier-quality performance measures and conduct supplier audits.
• Lead continuous-improvement initiatives to reduce defects, scrap, and cost of poor quality.
• Coordinate calibration and use of measurement equipment including CMM and precision instruments.
• Prepare and present quality reports, metrics and improvement recommendations.
