Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer Level 3/4 for the Mechanical and Chemical Test Services team in Bacchus, UT. This 100% onsite role requires hands-on testing of energetic and inert materials and collaboration with chemists and technicians in a fast-paced lab.

You will troubleshoot instrumentation, manage experiments, and ensure detailed records while supporting safe and compliant operations in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of professional experience; or Master’s degree with 3 years.
• Must obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
• Experience with scientific instrumentation and equipment.
• Flexibility to occasionally work swing shift and weekends.
• Strong written and verbal communication, time management and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Familiar with burn rate, viscosity, and testing of propellants.
• Fabricate specimens and test inert materials such as rubber, composites, and adhesives.
• Perform maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and calibration of instruments and processes.
• Maintain laboratory infrastructure including instruments and tooling.
• Design and manage experiments to improve processes and solve related issues.
• Maintain neat and accurate records to company standards.
• Maintain a high standard of operational discipline for safe, efficient operations.
