Job summary

MPI seeks a Senior Quality Engineer to lead quality initiatives in an injection molding environment. You will drive APQP, PFMEA, SPC, and DOE-driven improvements, mentor QA staff, and partner with engineering, operations, and suppliers to ensure manufacturing readiness and customer satisfaction.

Ideal candidates will have 6+ years in quality engineering, hands-on metrology experience, and exposure to ISO 9001 and continuous improvement tools. This is a full-time on-site role in Akron, OH.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 6+ years of progressive Quality Engineering experience in manufacturing (preferably injection molding).
• Proven success leading complex quality initiatives, corrective actions, root cause investigations, and cross-functional projects.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, SPC, TQM, DOE, APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and CI practices.
• Experience interpreting GD&T and using CMMs/ metrology equipment.
• Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification preferred; ASQ CQE is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality engineering activities for new product launches, engineering changes, and production programs.
• Develop and maintain quality system documentation (inspection plans, control plans, work instructions, process flows).
• Drive corrective and preventive actions via root-cause analysis and data-driven problem solving.
• Analyze process capability, variation, and defect trends using statistical tools.
• Oversee supplier quality through audits, scorecards, and collaborative improvement.
• Champion continuous improvement with Lean, Six Sigma, and related methodologies.
