Job summary

Rocket Lab in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer I to promote quality culture, manage the QMS, and lead quality initiatives across the product lifecycle. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure conformance to AS9100, customer, and internal requirements while driving continuous improvement and corrective actions.

The role requires hands-on quality leadership, audits, and collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain to deliver high-quality space

Qualifications

• 5+ years in electrical, mechanical, or chemical engineering.
• Experience implementing cross-functional projects in a technical environment.

Responsibilities

• Promote a quality culture focused on continuous improvement and innovation across the organization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on design reviews, new product development, in-process monitoring, contract reviews, and internal specification reviews.
• Monitor product performance across the lifecycle, ensuring compliance with specifications and driving efficiency.
• Create, monitor, and improve QMS procedures, policies, and records to ensure AS9100, customer, and internal requirements.
• Lead quality improvements, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and internal audits as needed.
• Support the Engineering Change process with reviews to align changes with requirements and manufacturing protocols.
• Verify and validate that in-process and finished products meet performance and appearance requirements.
• Deploy the QMS within scope of work to support operational excellence.
• Facilitate MRB, CAR, and RMAs processes as needed.
• Create and track metrics for nonconformances, CoPQ, KPIs, and supplier quality.
