Job summary

Abbott Nutrition’s Altavista, VA facility is seeking a Sr Quality Engineer to lead quality assurance activities in a high-volume nutrition manufacturing environment. You will ensure GMP compliance, oversee process validation, and support start-up production after changes and new product introductions.

The role emphasizes strong collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to sustain Abbott’s quality standards and safe, reliable products for consumers worldwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering, food science, or technical area preferred.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in QA, manufacturing or engineering with process validation.
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer may substitute part of the experience requirement.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards for infant formula and nutritionals.

Responsibilities

• Review RCEs to assure funding for GMP and risk assessment; contribute to process design and validation protocols.
• Assist in execution of validation protocols.
• Support initial start-up production after engineering changes or new product introductions.
• Perform product assurance reviews and identify and resolve key quality issues.
