Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Food Safety Manager to develop and maintain a culture of food safety at our Altavista, VA location. The role involves overseeing compliance with food safety regulations and quality systems, while also improving processes and managing quality personnel.

The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, extensive experience in the food manufacturing industry, and a thorough understanding of FDA regulations and HACCP principles.

Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in the food manufacturing industry.
• Minimum of 5 years applying FDA/GMP regulations.
• Understanding of microbiological principles and food borne pathogens.
• In-depth knowledge of HACCP and Food Safety Preventive Controls.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain food safety culture.
• Develop partnerships with supply chain and R&D.
• Lead food safety and quality system compliance.
• Manage food quality and safety plans.
• Monitor CAPA Programs for timely analysis.
• Ensure appropriate HACCP documentation.
