Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to ensure product quality from concept to sustainment. You will partner with program, product, and operations teams to eliminate cost and flow disruptions, implement visual KPIs, and lead CAPA for nonconformances.

The role involves driving quality planning, DFMA input, risk assessments, MRB coordination, and robust problem solving across the product lifecycle. A background in ISO/AS standards and Six Sigma is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• 5–8 years of quality engineering experience.
• Experience with DMAIC, FMEA, APQP and SPC.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, AS9102 audits.
• Familiarity with IPC_A_610 and IPC/WHMA_A_620 standards.
• Ability to use Six Sigma tools to drive root-cause and corrective actions.
• Strong data analysis and measurement system skills.
• Experience mentoring other engineers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement quality plans across the product lifecycle.
• Lead risk assessments and prepare APQP milestones.
• Perform MRB coordination and root-cause investigations.
• Lead QA investigations using 5 Why, Ishikawa, and DOE methodologies.
• Collaborate with engineering to define quality requirements and DFMA input.
• Drive continuous improvement and monitor MRB metrics.
