Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. is seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer in Simi Valley, CA to lead supplier quality strategy and enable robust product realization. You will audit suppliers, drive corrective actions, and collaborate with Engineering and Procurement to ensure compliance with AS9100 and ITAR requirements.

The role requires 8+ years in aerospace/defense quality, experience with PPAP and supplier development, and strong communication skills. Domestic travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical discipline.
• 8+ years in quality engineering or supplier quality in aerospace/defense/high-tech industries.
• Experience in supplier audits, corrective actions, and quality systems.
• Familiar with ISO 9001, AS9100, and ITAR regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and execution of supplier quality strategy aligned with company goals.
• Audit supplier capabilities, quality systems, and processes for compliance.
• Drive root cause analysis and robust corrective actions.
• Oversee supplier qualification, PPAP presence, and cost/quality improvements.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Procurement to meet requirements.
• Mentor staff and drive continuous improvement using advanced quality methods.
