Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Quality Engineer to ensure products meet quality, compliance, and customer requirements. You will support multiple programs, develop QA processes, conduct audits, analyze data, and maintain APQP documentation.

The role reports to the Lead Manager of Quality and is a key member of the quality team. Responsibilities include floor support, cross-functional collaboration, contract reviews, GD&T review, and root cause investigations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline.
• 7+ years of quality engineering experience in manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Ability to read complex blueprints and technical drawings.
• Familiarity with GD&T and APQP Core Tools.
• Experience with SPC, gauge R&R, and dimensional verification.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily production floor support by troubleshooting manufacturing, inspection, and testing processes.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, Programs, Contracts, Health & Safety, and other departments to maintain quality requirements.
• Perform contract reviews and quality planning for new and existing products.
• Review manufacturing and inspection plans using GD&T and engineering drawings.
• Develop specifications and process parameters based on customer requirements.
• Create and maintain APQP Core Tool documentation per contract requirements.
• Identify, design, and coordinate procurement of part-specific functional gaging as needed.
• Drive continuous improvement within the Quality department and across site operations.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of quality docs, inspection plans, and procedures.
• Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Communicate with customers regarding quality-related matters.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Perform supplier quality evaluations and vendor site visits as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
