Job summary

Leonardo DRS Naval Power Systems in Menomonee Falls, WI seeks a Quality Engineer II to help ensure reliability, performance, and compliance of advanced naval power systems. Qualifications

• 2+ years of quality engineering experience in manufacturing/defense or other regulated environments.
• Experience with quality tools and methodologies such as FMEA, CAPA, 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, SPC, and process capability analysis.
• Working knowledge of quality-management systems and standards such as ISO 9001 and AS9100 or comparable requirements.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and technical documentation.
• Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills across technical and operational teams.
• Proactive, detail-oriented approach and champion of quality across the product lifecycle.
• Experience supporting electromechanical products, power systems, electronics, or complex assemblies.
• ASQ certification such as CQE or CQA.
• Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen or other continuous improvement frameworks.
• Experience with government contracts, military standards, or customer-specific quality requirements.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do

• Lead and support quality assurance activities throughout product development, manufacturing, and supplier processes.
• Apply root-cause analysis and corrective-action methodologies to resolve nonconformances, reduce defects, and prevent recurrence.
• Develop, maintain, and improve quality plans, inspection strategies, work instructions, and process controls.

Education & Experience Requirements

• 2+ years of relevant quality engineering experience in a manufacturing, defense, aerospace, industrial, or similarly regulated environment.
• Experience with quality tools and methodologies such as FMEA, CAPA, 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, SPC, and process capability analysis .
