Job summary

Jabil is seeking a Quality Assurance professional to represent the quality function in support of global manufacturing accounts. You will lead QA plans for new product introductions, coordinate corrective actions with suppliers and customers, and drive process improvements across departments.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and at least five years of manufacturing experience, including knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, and APQP.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain QA plans for global new product introductions using APQP.
  • Support quoting activities through participation in design and implementation phases.
  • Evaluate inspection processes and provide input to guidelines and aids.
  • Develop training programs for assigned customers and functions.
  • Manage document storage, access, and review for global customer accounts.
  • Review discrepancies and coordinate corrective and preventive actions.
  • Interface with departments to implement process improvements and standardize manufacturing processes.
  • Assist in implementing Process Improvement and Optimization initiatives.

How will you make an impact?

Represent the quality function of technical support, in conjunction with other internal support groups, regarding issues affecting manufacturing on global customer accounts. Serve as liaison between Jabil Circuit and suppliers or customers on global quality-related issues.

What will you do?
  • Develop and maintain QA plans and timeliness of global new product introductions utilizing Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Process Optimization specific to the customer.
  • Provide support for all quoting activities through participation in initial process design, development, and implementation phases.
  • Evaluate and provide input to inspection processes through inspection aids and instruction guidelines.
  • Support global training programs specific to assigned customers through development and implementation of specialized training sessions for applicable functions.
  • Develop appropriate systems for document storage, access, and review pertaining to global customer accounts.
  • Review supplier, internal, and customer discrepancies and coordinate and track the effectiveness of corrective and proactive action efforts.
  • Conduct periodic review and maintenance of documentation files and develop systems for document storage and access.
  • Review supplier and customer discrepancies and coordinate and track corrective and preventative action activities.
  • Participate in vendor survey activities as applicable.
  • Drive proactive participation with suppliers and support supplier process improvement efforts whenever possible.
  • Interface with all departments regarding policies and procedures.
  • Provide insight and assistance in implementing and maintaining Process Improvement and Optimization initiatives with a focus on proactive methodologies.
  • Assist in driving the standardization of manufacturing processes for global customer accounts.
  • Interface with customers and provide technical support on quality-related issues as needed.
  • Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position.
  • Comply with all procedures within the company security policy.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
How will you get here?
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
  • Five years of related manufacturing experience required.
  • Preferred Electronics Manufacturing experience including knowledge of SMT, Wave Solder, Selective Solder, and Conformal Coating.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required to work at this specific site.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems, including ISO 9001 and AS9100.
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Knowledge of data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Proficiency in Six Sigma, Lean, and other quality improvement tools.
  • Strong analytical skills for identifying and resolving quality issues.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis and develop effective solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address complex quality issues.
  • Excellent communication skills for conveying technical information and collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Leadership skills for managing quality projects and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on quality standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Project management skills for managing quality initiatives and projects.
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control procedures.
  • Experience supporting NPI activities through APQP methodology or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong working knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, DoD, and MIL-SPEC requirements.
  • Strong working knowledge of J-STD-001 and applicable Space Addendum requirements.
  • IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610, and IPC/WHMA-A-620 certifications preferred but not required.
  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with customer-facing quality activities and supplier quality management.
  • Experience leading continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives.
