Job summary

Thalle Construction Co., Inc. is seeking an Alternate Quality Control Manager for the Leatherwood Creek Dam project in Martinsville, VA.

The role involves managing the construction QC program, leading inspectors and testing personnel, and coordinating with government QA teams to ensure compliance. Qualified candidates will have a graduate engineering or construction management background, 15+ years of experience, and ability to obtain CQM certification within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Graduate engineer or construction management degree with extensive field experience.
• Minimum 15 years in heavy civil construction on comparable projects.
• Completion or willingness to obtain CQM for Contractors certification within 90 days.
• Experience as an approved Construction Quality Control Manager on USACE projects preferred.
• Proven ability to lead QC staff and coordinate with sub contractors.

Responsibilities

• Provide Quality Control Systems Management for the project.
• Oversee full-time QC activities during construction and supervise staff.
• Manage the QC program and records at site and coordinate with officers.
• Review submittals and conduct three phases of QC for each feature.
• Coordinate QC with production, safety, and management teams.
• Liaise with government QA team and conduct daily/weekly coordination meetings.
