Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a senior Quality lead to drive FPY improvements and zero-defect performance across field operations. You will champion RCCA/8D, FMEA, and continuous improvement, while ensuring compliance with UL, NEC, and IEC standards.

Collaborate with Engineering and Install Partners to cut defects and rework, and lead training for field crews. Your role involves investigations of field failures, risk assessments, and developing metrics to boost customer satisfaction and field performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline required
  • 7–10 years of progressively responsible experience in Quality Engineering, Field Operations, Solar or Semiconductor Industry
  • Demonstrated experience in solar energy systems, battery storage systems, power electronics, or renewable energy technologies
  • Strong understanding of UL, NEC, IEC, and applicable industry certification
  • Knowledge of U.S. Department of Energy guidelines, industry standards, electrical codes, and solar installation best practices
  • Proven track record of improving quality, operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and field performance metrics
  • Experience implementing and sustaining ISO 9001
  • Strong background collaborating with Design Engineering, Field Operations, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, and Customer Success teams
  • Demonstrated success driving FPY improvements and defect reduction
  • Excellent problem-solving and leadership skills
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and deployment of strategies to achieve 100% FPY and Zero Defects across field operations
  • Champion RCCA/8D, FMEA, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Drive compliance with specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements as the field quality lead
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Installation Partners to eliminate field defects and rework
  • Develop, implement, and monitor quality metrics including FPY and customer satisfaction
  • Lead investigations of field failures, customer escalations, and systemic quality issues
  • Conduct quality reviews and risk assessments
  • Evaluate new products and installation methods for field readiness
  • Collaborate with Engineering to drive design improvements using feedback
  • Develop and deliver quality training for Field Managers, DIMs, RIMs, and installation crews
  • Coach field personnel on quality standards and RCCA processes
  • Foster quality ownership and accountability across field teams
  • Travel to field locations to observe processes, coach teams, and perform audits
  • Maintain strong field presence for rapid issue resolution

Job description


  • Lead the development and deployment of strategies to achieve and sustain 100% FPY and Zero Defects across field operations

  • Champion ANDON CORD, RCCA/8D, FMEA, and continuous improvement methodologies

  • Drive compliance with company specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements as the primary field quality lead

  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Installation Partners to identify and eliminate field defects and rework

  • Develop, implement, and monitor quality metrics including FPY, defect rates, customer satisfaction, and corrective action effectiveness

  • Lead investigations of field failures, customer escalations, and systemic quality issues using structured problem-solving methodologies

  • Conduct quality reviews and risk assessments

  • Evaluate new products, technologies, installation methods, and battery storage solutions for field readiness

  • Collaborate with Engineering to drive design improvements using field performance data and customer feedback

  • Develop and deliver quality training programs for Field Managers, DIMs, RIMs, installation crews, and installation partners

  • Coach field personnel on quality standards, inspection methods, RCCA processes, FMEA principles, and continuous improvement techniques

  • Foster quality ownership, accountability, and customer-focused execution across field organizations

  • Travel to field locations to observe processes, coach teams, perform quality audits, and support critical customer and operational initiatives

  • Maintain a strong field presence for rapid issue resolution and continuous improvement execution


Requirements
