Job summary

SRM Digital is seeking an experienced Senior Tester / Senior QA Engineer to lead quality assurance across the SDLC. You will develop test strategies, oversee automation, and perform functional, integration, API, and data validation testing to ensure robust software releases.

You will mentor junior QA engineers, collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, and Analysts, and help evolve QA processes, frameworks, and Agile practices to deliver high-quality software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in Software QA / Testing with automation.
• Experience in Agile development environments.
• Ability to independently lead QA activities and collaborate cross-functionally.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Tester / Senior QA Engineer to lead and execute quality assurance activities across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in test strategy, automation testing, functional and integration testing, API and backend validation, data quality assurance, and defect management.

The successful candidate will work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and other stakeholders to ensure applications meet functional, technical, performance, and quality requirements. This role will also contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, automation frameworks, and Agile testing practices while providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior QA team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, execution, and maintenance of comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, and test cases.
• Perform and oversee functional, integration, system, regression, end-to-end, and UAT testing activities.
• Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts and frameworks.
• Perform API testing and validate application integrations, backend services, databases, and data flows.
• Conduct data quality and data validation testing to ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency, and integrity.
• Support Salesforce testing across relevant application functionality, integrations, workflows, and data.
• Identify, document, prioritize, track, and verify software defects through resolution.
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, Architects, and Support Teams to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Ensure adherence to Agile QA processes, testing standards, and best practices, while adapting approaches to meet individual team and project requirements.
• Support release validation, production verification, smoke testing, and post-production/hypercare activities.
• Analyze test results and provide clear reporting on test coverage, defects, risks, and overall release quality.
• Identify opportunities to improve QA processes, testing methodologies, tools, and automation coverage.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level QA engineers.
• Promote a culture of quality and encourage shift-left testing and quality engineering practices throughout the SDLC.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong experience in Software Quality Assurance / Software Testing.
• Hands‑on experience with Automation Testing and automated test frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end testing.
• Experience with API testing and validation of backend services.
• Experience with database testing and SQL‑based data validation.
• Strong understanding of Data Quality Assurance and data validation concepts.
• Knowledge or hands‑on experience with Salesforce Testing.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and QA best practices.
• Ability to ensure adherence to Agile processes while adapting testing approaches to specific project/team needs.
• Experience with defect management, root‑cause analysis, and test reporting.
• Strong communication, analytical, problem‑solving, and collaboration skills.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• 6 years of experience in Software QA / Testing, with significant hands‑on automation experience.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Demonstrated ability to independently lead QA activities and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
