Job summary

WETA, the flagship public media station for the nation’s capital, is seeking a Senior Audience & Impact Research Specialist to lead qualitative research and impact measurement. You will design studies, code and synthesize data, and translate findings into strategic insights to guide organizational decisions.

The role collaborates with the Manager, Data Strategy & Analytics and reports to the Senior Director, Research & Data Analytics. Located in Arlington, VA with onsite or hybrid options.

Qualifications

• Experience with qualitative research design and analysis.
• Ability to translate qualitative findings into actionable insights.
• Experience collaborating with quantitative researchers on mixed-method reporting.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead research studies (surveys, interviews, focus groups) aligned to impact goals.
• Code, analyze, and synthesize qualitative data into findings and recommendations.
• Set qualitative methodology and quality standards across the team.
• Direct and validate qualitative groundwork by junior researchers or contract staff.
• Partner with Analytics to co-design integrated qualitative/quantitative reporting frameworks.
• Advise on data visualizations and prepare audience/impact reports for stakeholders.
• Maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure research relevance.
