Job summary

RTX is seeking a Qt Software Engineer to build and improve Pratt & Whitney’s Data Configuration System, a Qt/C++ desktop app unifying engine test workflows across teams. You will create intuitive interfaces, automate configurations, and design scalable architectures supporting multi-user editing and database integration.

The role emphasizes reliability, safety, and efficiency in the engine test lifecycle, with up to 10% travel. U.S. citizenship and security clearance eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in STEM or related field.
• 5 years of engineering experience or 3 years with an advanced degree.
• Experience in C++ programming.
• Experience developing desktop applications using Qt.
• U.S. Citizen or ability to obtain/maintain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance the DCS application to support multi-user editing and a unified database.
• Design intuitive user interfaces to simplify workflows and reduce errors.
• Implement traceability, diagnostics, and automated configuration of data systems.
• Create workflow automation for approvals and notifications.
• Integrate software with external systems and enterprise tools.
