Job summary

C.A. Murren and Sons seeks a Quality Control Manager to lead on-site inspection, testing, and enforcement of the project Quality Control Program across engineering, procurement, subcontracting, construction, testing, turnover, and supplier activities.

You will oversee field resources, ensure compliance with ASME/NQA standards, and coordinate with laboratories and inspectors to halt work when non-conformance is found. A strong background in heavy civil and industrial projects is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction, quality, or related field.
• 10+ years in construction QC/inspection with DOE/commercial nuclear exposure.
• Level II/III QC inspector qualification or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the QC execution plan, inspection plans, and staffing across sites.
• Lead QC personnel for earthwork, concrete, piping, electrical, welding, coatings, and more.
• Schedule inspections, coordinate with superintendents, subcontractors, and labs.
• Review work packages to confirm specs, codes, acceptance criteria, and hold/witness points.
• Ensure QC staff are trained, qualified, certified, and independent of the work inspected.
• Coordinate readiness with Field Engineering, Work Planning, Construction, and inspectors.
• Review inspection reports for completeness, traceability, and timely status entries.
• Control inspection status, NCRs, reinspection, and closure processes.
• Oversee material receiving inspection and verification of conformance certificates.
• Monitor subcontractor QC performance and turnover package completeness.
• Perform field walks and participate in pre-task, quality, safety, and project meetings.
