Job summary

DBM Global is seeking a QA Inspector to verify dimensional accuracy and weld quality in Ottawa, KS shop production. You will perform dimensional and visual inspections, ensure conformance to drawings and codes, and coordinate with inspectors during inspection phases to maintain quality and compliance.

The role requires a High School Diploma with at least three years of related experience, plus knowledge of structural welding codes. AWS-CWI or similar credentials are preferred."

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 3 years of related experience.
• Vocational training substitution for 1 year of experience is possible.
• CAWI, AWS-CWI, SCWI, or CWB preferred or equivalent in metals fabrication/inspection.

Responsibilities

• Perform a dimensional and visual inspection of shop fabrication, including final paint inspections, weld preparations and final welds.
• Ensure fabricated materials conform to drawings, shop standards, specifications and applicable codes.
• Record and maintain in-process and final inspection records for quality assurance and production control.
• Identify and remedy drawing discrepancies with detailers.
• Coordinate with customers' inspectors during inspection phases.
• Inform foremen of defects in fabrication.
• Assist shop personnel with interpretation of codes, drawings and specifications.
