You will perform dimensional and visual inspections, record in-process data, communicate defects to foremen, and collaborate with customers' inspectors during inspection phases.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 3 years of related experience; AWS-CWI or CSA W178.2 familiarity

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 3 years of related experience.
• Completion of a verifiable vocational or training program may substitute for one year of experience.
• Current or prior CAWI, AWS-CWI, SCWI, or CWB per CSA W178.2 preferred.
• Knowledge of AWS and AISC codes applicable to steel fabrication and erection.
• Ability to read and interpret Structural Steel Blueprints and related documents.

Aufgaben

• Perform dimensional and visual inspection of shop fabrication, including final paint inspections and welds.
• Ensure fabricated materials conform to drawings, shop standards, specs and codes.
• Record and maintain in-process and final inspection records for QA and production control.
• Identify and resolve drawing discrepancies with detailers.
• Coordinate with customers' inspectors during inspection phases.
• Inform foremen of defects in fabrication and actions needed.
• Assist shop personnel with interpretation of codes, drawings and specifications.
