Job summary

Connecticut Department of Social Services (DSS) is seeking experienced QA Test Analysts to support mission-critical enterprise applications delivering essential services to Connecticut residents. The role combines manual and automated testing in a hybrid environment in Hartford, CT, with initial remote work and a transition to one onsite day per week.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Quality Assurance experience testing large enterprise applications.
• Strong experience in both Manual and Automation Testing
• Experience working throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, testing processes, and best practices
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environment
• Experience using Jira for defect tracking and project management
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
• Ability to translate business requirements into detailed test scenarios and test cases

Responsibilities

• Perform manual and automated testing across multiple enterprise applications
• Develop comprehensive test scenarios, test cases, and automation scripts
• Execute Functional, Regression, Integration, SIT, UAT, API, Mobile, and End-to-End testing
• Review business requirements and technical specifications to identify testing needs
• Validate REST APIs and SOAP Web Services using testing tools
• Manage defects and testing activities using Jira
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning and backlog refinement
• Maintain Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM)
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, architects, project managers, and state stakeholders
• Support production deployments, release validation, and post-production testing
• Assist in improving QA standards, automation frameworks, and testing methodologies
