Job summary

Connecticut Department of Social Services (DSS) is seeking an experienced QA Test Analyst to support mission-critical enterprise applications for Connecticut residents. The role covers manual and automation testing across Salesforce, Java apps, and mobile/PWA platforms, with backend data validation and API testing.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in QA, strong SDLC and Agile experience, and the ability to translate business requirements into comprehensive test scenarios.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Quality Assurance experience testing large enterprise applications.
• Strong experience with both manual and automation testing.
• Experience working throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, testing processes, and best practices.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working with business stakeholders and technical teams.
• Ability to interpret requirements and translate to test cases.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and Jira usage.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on manual and automated testing across multiple enterprise applications.
• Develop detailed test scenarios, test cases, and automated scripts from requirements.
• Review requirements and design documents to identify testing needs.
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release planning.
• Execute functional, regression, integration, system, API, and end-to-end testing.
• Validate data with SQL queries in backend systems.
• Coordinate defect management and triage with cross-functional teams.
• Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, and tests.
• Support production releases with validation and post-release checks.
